Veronica Kaup-Hasler
Veronica Kaup-Hasler, *1968, is director of the Graz based arts festival steirischer herbst, one of the world’s few festivals of contemporary art that is by nature truly multidisciplinary. Veronica Kaup-Hasler has been running it since 2006.
In addition, she is member of the council of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and of a selection of juries. Previous positions include dramaturge at Basle Theatre (1993–95), and festival dramaturge for the Wiener Festwochen (1995–2001), from 1998 on as artistic collaborator of theatre director Luc Bondy.
Highlights of her activities in these positions include the conception and implementation of the young directors’ competition at the Wiener Festwochen, the development of projects such as Christoph Schlingensief’s Container Action and research in the field of East European performing arts scene. Other work included giving lectures at the Academy of Fine Arts (1998–2001). Before being appointed to run the steirischer herbst festival she worked as artistic director of the Theaterformen festival in Hanover and Brunswick from 2001 to 2004. Veronica is mother of two kids (Hannah, *1999 and Valentin, * 2004).
Veronica Kaup-Hasler was involved in the project in August 2010 as participant and co-producer of the research phase for the performance.
